Despite HACCP being developed as a tool that assures the safety of food and drink it is increasing being used to assure the safety of many different consumer products.
Manufacturers of products such as cosmetics, personal hygiene products, cleaning products, medical products and even simple fire lighters are now being asked, or told by their customers and standards organisations, such as the BRC, to implement HACCP to help assure the safety of their products. Such a request can be daunting, especially if you are unfamiliar with the processes of food and drink manufacture.
